I'm in mourning - why did Brokeback Mountain win so little at the Oscars? Is this just chickening out at the last minute? Maybe the publicity campaign for 'Crash' succeeded where quality failed.

- I retired on medical grounds from a very satisfying job over a year ago - but I seem to be busier than ever. I try to watch a film a week, I joined U3A, do so much reading (I belong to three reading groups) go to the theatre regularly and love living in East London.
